Encore's pedigree reads like a Who's Who of our elite stud rams and ewes this past decade! Rams include Prairie Gold, Prairie Pride, Charlie's Pride, Final Edition, Aftershock, Shockwave, Rare Rendition, Bailout, plus two of our all-time great ewes 5270 and 1053, who are in his pedigree twice.
Encore was the Champion Hampshire and Supreme Champion Ram at the 2017 Minnesota State Fair the only time we showed him. Since then, he has been far too valuable for us in the breeding pen than in the show ring. He has developed into a very large, massive ram that is easy keeping. He has sired many of our top selling ewe lambs and yearling ewes the past two years, in addition to producing some of our top stud prospects.

Another very valuable piece in our breeding program! We showed this ram one time and he placed third in the March ram lamb class at the 2017 Minnesota State Fair. The judge referred to him as a real contender for winning the class, so we thought Contender was the perfect name for him. He is a large ram that is exceptionally level topped, plus big boned, wooly headed and massive made. His pedigree takes us deep into the Taylor Made line we have been working to keep alive in our breeding program. Sires in his studbook are Taylor Made, Fusion, Distinction, BMW, Custom Built, Bailout, Rare Rejection, Reload, Benchwarmer, Hot Shock, and Image. His mother is a daughter of another of our all-time elite stud ewes 7377, who brings in Boomerang and Schlichter BB-1.
His first lamb crop was absolutely remarkable producing two top stud prospects including Swagger, the Supreme Champion Ram at the 2019 Minnesota State Fair. He also sired several of our good ewe lambs including our high selling February ewe lamb in the 2019 National Hampshire Sale. We are retaining many daughters for our breeding program.

Fearless is an impressive ram that combines size, structural correctness, bone, and style in one package. He was the Reserve Champion Ram as a ram lamb at the 2018 Minnesota State Fair. We would have loved to show him again as a yearling, but some rams have way too much value in the breeding pen to pull them out to show! As you read his sires pedigree above, you will note that what makes him even more special to us is his mother is sired by Inception, our 2014 Reserve National Champion Ram, and is out of our reputable Lucky 7 ewe family. |

We purchased "Big" in the spring of 2020 from Rikow Hampshires. This Fall born ram
impressed us with his tremendous size, wooly head and dead level top. His mother has been a super
star brood ewe that has been a NO miss ewe producing many outstanding sheep for Rikow's. Including
two Louisville class winners and high selling sheep in Rikow's online sale.
We Showed "Big" at the 2020 National Hampshire Show where he was the second place
fall ram lamb and Reserve Senior Champion. We are excited about the size, length and level design this
ram can contribute to our breeding program. |
